Jasmine Green Tea Cookies – A Floral, Decadent Homemade Recipe

Jasmine green tea cookies
Soft-centered homemade cookies, lightly golden at the edges, with the delicate floral note of jasmine green tea.
In our home, tea recipes rarely start with anything complicated. They usually begin with a cup, a few ingredients on the table, and the desire to try something new.
This time, Christelle chose jasmine green tea. Its floral fragrance gently infuses the dough and gives the cookies a real personality without losing their indulgent appeal.
And of course, every new batch must undergo an extremely rigorous quality control check… under the watchful eye of TAO, our 3-month-old Sphynx elf, the newest member of the family.

Ingredients
- 120 g unsalted butter
- 100 g brown sugar
- 50 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 200 g flour
- 1/2 packet baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 5 to 7 g jasmine green tea
- 100 g white chocolate chips (optional)
Why jasmine?
Jasmine brings a very different floral dimension to a classic cookie. The goal is not to create an overpowering fragrance, but a note that gradually emerges on the palate.
Preparation
-
Prepare the butter.
Melt it gently, then let it cool for a few minutes. -
Infuse it with jasmine.
To naturally enhance the fragrance, you can add some of the tea to the still-warm butter, let it steep for 5 to 8 minutes, then strain it. -
Mix the sugars.
Incorporate the brown sugar and sugar into the butter until the mixture is smooth. -
Add the egg.
Mix until you have a smooth batter. -
Add the dry ingredients.
Incorporate the flour, baking powder, and pinch of salt without overworking the batter. -
Add the tea.
Finely chop the remaining jasmine green tea before incorporating it into the batter. It should not be ground into a fine powder. -
Add the white chocolate if desired.
A small amount adds richness without overpowering the jasmine fragrance. -
Let it rest.
Shape the cookies, then place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. -
Bake.
Bake at 175°C for 10 to 12 minutes. The edges should be lightly golden and the center still soft. -
Let them cool.
Wait a few minutes before moving them. Their texture gradually stabilizes as they cool.
And TAO in all this?
At three months old, TAO obviously has no official role in the shop. Yet, since arriving, our little Sphynx elf seems to have decided that tea time deserves special supervision.
He makes himself at home near the cups, watches the photo sessions, and sticks his nose everywhere with the curiosity typical of new family members.
This recipe will therefore also be associated with one of those very simple moments: cookies fresh from the oven, a cup of tea, and TAO discovering his new world.

What tea to drink with these cookies?
The most natural choice remains jasmine green tea. Prepared with water that is not too hot, it extends the floral fragrance of the cookies without making the overall taste too sweet.
You can also explore other flavored green teas if you want to play with fruitier, lemonier, or fresher combinations.
A recipe to make again at tea time
These jasmine green tea cookies are a simple way to bring tea out of the cup and into the kitchen.
Their appeal lies precisely in their balance: a very indulgent base, followed by that gentle floral note.
Enjoy them while they are still slightly warm… with a good teapot nearby.
Enjoy,
